If this issue resolves without having a pre existing diagnosis I will certainly be getting real pet insurance. My only regret is that I did not understand I only have a wellness plan through Banfield and that it is not TRUE INSURANCE! Now that my cat is 11 years old and having an issue I do not qualify for a plan anywhere. I will be using them again in the future. They were compassionate to understand that I could not run all the tests at once ($1,700) and explained that she is stable and this has been a slow ongoing issue for nearly two years of weight ups and downs so that I could budget it out and do more testing when I was able. (A GI panel of labs, they gave me the cost and said I should also ask my vet what their costs would be so I could compare.) They truly wanted what was best for my cat and not just to make the most money. They outlined what I would do next if those results are inconclusive. Ultimately, after doing an abdominal ultrasound to check for any issue that was causing a poor appetite and weight loss we decided that using my wellness plan at Banfield to do x-rays and labs would be the best choice. I really appreciated them working with me to decide what was most important to rule out and then go through the steps to keep costs down. Beginning with making the appointment through to check out the staff was professional, dedicated, thorough and friendly. We were able to take our Lilly home that afternoon and she is on the mend and back to fighting with her brother. Our charges were actually less than what they originally quoted, so take the posts that say this is a money machine and they will do whatever necessary to charge the most with a grain of salt. keeping her in hospital and was able to confirm our pups diagnosis and gave us step by step instructions for taking her home. Summers have very clear pros and cons of taking her home vs. But she was also very forthright about the fact that we could certainly skip certain tests until the outcome of others, to control cost.

Summers was excellent, giving us a full picture of what we were dealing with and what the costs would be at each step. If I go to the people hospital, I know I'm going to be paying a premium. They were very upfront with costs, and yes, as many have mentioned they are expensive.

They were very knowledgeable and explained everything to us. After spending the weekend there and still unwell, we transferred her to Blue Pearl in Maitland on the clinics recommendation first thing Monday morning. I wanted to write a review because as my dog was in their care, I read so many terrible reviews, I was so worried! Our Lilly went to the emergency clinic on Friday night.
